This is a avery basic explaination of SIP trunking from some Level3 marketing.
It describes the basic reason why a managed SIP session border controller (SBC) is a good thing. Not sure whether or not Level3 does a good job but this video is worth a look none the less.

Here is one of the best articles I've seen on the state of the WISP market.

I do buy into the Baby Bell wireless theory. They will eventually co-opt or kill wireless because it poses a threat to both the local loop and the cell phone business units.
